Welcome

Are you ready for the 2012-13 school years? We have a great 4^th grade curriculum including topics like the American Revolution, the solar system, and Native American cultures. We will be using the new common core standards in language arts and math.

Please look through your child’s agenda and take home folder each day.  Homework will be sent in the folder every day.  In addition, 4^th graders are expected to read for a minimum of 20 minutes every night.  We will be using the calendars in the agendas to track how many pages are read each day.  Our goal is to read 3,900 pages by the end of the year. That equals 1,000,000 words!

It is an expectation that a parent sign the agenda each night to signify that your child has completed their homework and reading time.  Behavior concerns will be noted in the agenda as well.  I am looking forward to working with your talented children this year!

Reminders

• You may send a healthy snack and water bottle with your child each day.
• Our class eats lunch 11:46-12:16.
• Our class will have P.E next Monday and Friday. Please send your child wearing athletic shoes.
• Addison has an early release every Wednesday. Dismissal begins at 1:20.

We will be teaching our students about the 7 leadership habits this year.
